Born on 11 November 1989 in village Dayanpur, Hapur, U. P., Rohit is a farmer. From his childhood, he saw his father’s love and care for the land he tills with his sweat and toil. He joined hands with his father as a farmer.
Giving up farming after graduation, Rohit worked as a photojournalist for twelve years after graduation, Howsoever hard he tried, Rohit could not wean himself away from his love for nature instilled into him by his father. To address his restlessness, Rohit turned to adventure. Under the patronage of his Guru, the veteran climber Mr. Gopal Sharma, the founder of Atulya Ganga, he trekked to Har ki Doon, Roop Kund, and biked across Himachal and Laddakh.
On hearing about the Atulya Ganga Project from his Guru, Rohit, driven by his desire to something meaningful in life, gave up his career, and decided to dedicate his life to Mother Ganga.
He reverted to farming, and started training himself for undertaking the first ever Mundman Parikrama of Ganga, 5,000 kilometer marathon, a feat not for the feeble hearted
