Cyclothon Story

Taken up as a medium of Jan Sampark, Public Ineraction, to create awakening along the Ganga basin for the need for public participation in efforts to rejuvenate Ganga, the Atulya Ganga Cyclothon was flagged off by His Excellency The Governor Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh on 27 February 2022. Determined to give it our best shot, on 1 st February, we walked rom Gangotri towards Gomukh thorough patches of snow. We could only reach Deodhang about 7 km ahead of Gangotri. and had to turn back as the residual snow did not allow further movement. Undeterred, we turned back, picked up our bikes at Gangotri and covered 24 kms till Harsil. Where there was no snow on the road, we rode the bikes. Atulya Ganga Cyclothon 2022 completed its 2,500km run at Gangasagar on 28 March 2022.
